Ambassador of Lebanon condoles death of former Lebanese Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Shatah

On the occasion of the assassination of former Lebanese Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Shatah, who was killed in a blast in Beirut on December 27, 2013, the Ambassador of Lebanon in Germany, H.E. Dr. Mustapha Adib, along with a delegation of the embassy, on January 1st, 2014 paid a condolence visit to the headquarters of the Future Movement in Berlin. 

Expressing his deepest sympathies the ambassador said that the minister was an esteemed moderate personality, who believed in dialogue and the language of reason adding that Lebanon has lost a grand political and academic figure.

The ambassador also said that it was time to put an end to the spiral of violence and crimes that keep shaking up Lebanon and he stressed that the country needs to get out of this terrible cycle of hateful grief to clear the way for a more hopeful future where all parties come together for the greater good of all citizens and to ensure growth and stability in the country.
